Sallie Files for Delegate on Maryland Day!
I filed to run for House of Delegates. I did not come to this decision lightly but after considerable thought. I have never felt so strongly that our state is heading down the wrong track; that individual rights and our founding principles have become nostalgic phrases and pretty thoughts that our elected leaders sprinkle in their speeches but ignore in the legislation that they pass, the taxes that they demand and the mandates that they have so easily foisted upon us.
I will never forget that the true power of the government
comes from the people. Each of us can make better
decisions regarding how we spend our money, educate our children and keep healthy than any government bureaucrat or elected official.

Me and my Girls.
I will fight against MOORE taxes so that my girls can
afford to live and raise their families here...
Maryland is home!
Who is Sallie Taylor...
I am a native Marylander and lifelong conservative Republican. I have lived over 25 years in Carroll County with my husband, Sam, and our two daughters. Before moving to Carroll, I lived in Frederick County where I was an elected member of the Republican Central Committee. I have been both a homeschool mom and a marching band booster parent at Liberty High School where both of my girls graduated. Also, I have been a long-time political activist and staff member for conservative causes and politicians. For eighteen years, I had the honor of working for Congressman Bartlett in various senior staff positions. More recently, I served as Delegate Dan Cox’s chief of staff during the 2020 and 2021 regular legislative sessions.

Taxes-- NO MOORE TAXES
I pledge to never vote for a tax or a fee increase. I know it is cliche but we have a spending problem in Maryland. Our state budget has doubled since 2006 from $30 billion to $67 Billion.

Fair, Honest and Secure Elections
Elections are the bedrock of our system of government. When citizens question the election process, the legitimacy of election results are inevitably called into question as well.
I will support:
voter ID, forensic audits, curbs on mail-in voting and enhanced election security to ensure every honest vote counts and only honest votes are counted.

Education
Everyone talks about offering a "world class" education and clearly with the additional $38 billion being pumped into Maryland schools over the next 10 years that is what we should expect, but the "Blueprint" comes with too much central control. It is a one-size fits all state run program which needs greater flexibility at the county level. Schools need to teach the basics (i.e. reading, writing, arithmetic, science and history and in later grades career tech options) and the Golden Rule... if we did just those two things well Maryland would provide a "world class" education.
I will support:
Repeal of much of the "Blueprint" and its bloated budget, School Choice, parents' rights to direct their children's education, making funding formulas fair to all counties so that Carroll County gets more than the mandates but also our share of Maryland school dollars.
